Not sure what to do with your goose breast? Check out this slow cooker recipe!

My husband and I both hunt so when we are having a good day out hunting, we bring home a lot of meat and sometimes we are not sure what to do with it all. So I am always looking for new recipes to try with the goose and duck meat. This slow cooker Barbecue Goose Sandwich recipe is to die for. It is really easy to make and really good. During the fall months, I will put it in the slow cooker before we head out hunting and it cooks while we are out hunting and is ready to eat for supper.

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

2 Tablespoons butter

1 clove garlic, minced

1 small yellow onion, sliced

1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 cups chicken broth

As many goose breast as you want

Directions:

1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and onion and saute for 5 minutes. Add goose breast and brown on both sides for about 5 minutes, or until browned.

2. Place goose breast in slow cooker and add Worcestershire sauce. Add chicken broth to cover (approximately 2 cups) and cook on high setting for 6 to 8 hours, or until meat falls apart. Shred with a fork and mix with your favorite barbecue sauce.

Do you have an early Teal season?

In the state of Wisconsin, that's where I live we have an early teal season. You can shoot six birds per day but the only thing that sucks about it, it runs from Sept 1st to Sept 7th so it isn't open for very long but if you know a good spot for teal, you will probably have a good early season. My husband and I don't see much where we hunt during the early season for teal but that doesn't stop us from trying. Last year we ended up getting a couple during the early season but so far this year we haven't gotten any.

If you have an early Teal season, do you go hunting for them and how long is your season?

Do you have an early Canadian goose hunting season where you live?

My husband and I live in Wisconsin, so there is an early goose season that runs from Sept 1st to the 15th. I would have to say it was a good opening weekend for early goose. My husband is not shy about asking if we can hunt in farmers fields and we have been watching this one field the last 2 weeks of August since the farmer had planted wheat and already had it picked. There were dozens of geese out in the field ever evening and dozens of mallards, to bad we couldn't shoot the mallards cause that would have been some awesome shooting. But my husband got the permission from the farmer to hunt the field and on Friday Sept 1st we ended up with 21 geese. There were 8 of us out there, so you know the more the merrier and it was a blast. It was a good opening early goose hunt and I can't wait for more.

If you are able to hunt early goose where you live, how was your opening day for hunting?

Guys out hunting and Hummingbird Tries eating from his hat!

Pretty neat video of a hummingbird trying to eat from the hunters hat. I love the part where the hummingbird lands and looking all confused as to why there is nothing coming out. Once the hummingbird figured out that he wasn't getting anything it left.

Have you ever had anything like this happen to you out hunting before?

I have had a deer walk up on me when going potty in the woods. You can't hold it forever and that deer was the only deer I saw all day and it was when I was peeing.

Bald Eagle Drowns Fawn in a Lake in Wisconsin. Pretty Neat Video!

This video was taken at Lake Noquebay, Wisconsin which is a pretty neat sight to see. I am not sure if I would have been able to sit back and watch the eagle kill the fawn but at the same time nature has to eat as well and in articles the lady said this eagle fed on the fawn for 3 days.

Would you be able to sit back and let this fawn drown by the eagle or help the fawn?

Pretty Cool! Idaho may offer hunters bounties for bad wolves.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has proposed putting bounties on problem wolves and allowing hunters to lure wolves with bait. They want to take action against the high number of wolves that are killing livestock and big game. The Idaho Fish and Game Commission feel if the wolf bait rule is approved that it would encourage more wolf hunters to go out in fields and purse a wolf just like bears.

What are your thoughts?

I feel like a lot of states should be doing this. I feel like they have let the wolves get over populated and now they are a problem in every state. I wish I live in Idaho if this passed through Legislature. It would help out the ranchers and other farmers.
