If you are from Wisconsin, you might have already read about this. Buffalo County in Wisconsin is putting in recommends to ban buck hunting which has a lot of hunters and residents up in arms. I know Buffalo County is widely considered one of North America's top destinations for hunting trophy bucks.
I can see it both ways trying to reduce the herd but at the same time some hunters only hunt for those trophy bucks. My husband hunts the trophy bucks bow hunting but when it comes to rifle season he will shoot good size doe just to put a little food on the table but if a trophy buck walks in, you can bet he will shoot it.
It will be interesting to see if it will pass and this next deer season be a doe only hunt. I would bet if it passes there would be a lot of hunters not hunting until they can shoot that trophy buck again.
What are your thoughts? Would you be upset if this happened in the county you hunt in?
